- Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday for Joe Price
McGehee, 83, who died at 2:45 p.m. Tuesday at Wichita Falls following a
five month illness. The Rev. Clyde Beck of Sherman will
conduct. Burial will be in Macomb Cemetery with Barrett Funeral
Home directing.
Mr. McGehee was born Oct. 25, 1864 in Carroll County, Miss., the son of Mr. and Mrs. W.P. McGehee. He was married in 1890 to Miss Sallie E. Brock of Collinsville. He came to Texas in 1876 and was engaged in farming. He had been a resident of the Ethel community for 71 years. The body will remain at the residence of his son, John W. McGehee, until time for services. Pall bearers will be nephews Ira Taylor, Coy Taylor, Emmett Taylor, Bill Taylor, Elmer Dawson and Clifford McGehee. Survivors include two sons, John W. McGehee of Collinsville, and Joe P. McGehee of Troup; on sister, Mrs. Falba Fisher of Sherman; two granddaughters, Mrs. Geraldine Keener of Austin and Miss Lioma Jean McGehee of Collinsville; one great-granddaughter, Martha Kay Keenan, and several nieces and nephews.
