Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m.
Thursday in Barrett Funeral Chapel in Sherman, for Harry E. Orr, 76, of 820 S.
Charles, a retired farmer, who died at 10 a.m. Tuesday, 10 July 1962 in his home
after an illness of two weeks.
Allen Harper, minister of Grand Ave. Church of
Christ and Don Kester, minister of the Walnut St. Church of Christ, will conduct
the services. Burial will be in the Luella Cemetery. Masonic rites will be
accorded at the graveside by Travis Lodge 117, AF&AM.
Howard Hestand Sr., Cliff Hestand, Otto Farmer,
Carl Hall, Troy Knox and Frank Taylor will be pallbearers.
The family will be at Barrett Funeral Chapel
from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Mr. Orr was born Sept. 28, 1885 in Luella, the
son of Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Orr. In 1905, he married Miss Lillie Porter in
Pottsboro. He retired in 1950. He was a member of the Church of Christ and a
Mason.
Survivors are his wife; three daughters, Mrs.
Barrett Ford, Mrs. Charles Dalton and Mrs. Maurice Kumler, all of Sherman; three
sons, Lee Orr of Dallas; Colquitt Orr of Sherman and Bill Orr of Alamagordon,
N.M.; a sister, Mrs. Eula B. Hall of Sherman; four brothers, Earnest Orr of
Alameda, California; Wayne Orr of Sherman and Hoyt Orr and Roscoe Orr, both of
Luella; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Lillie P. Orr Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Monday in
Barrett Funeral Chapel here for Mrs. Harry E. Orr, 75, of 820 S. Charles, who
died Sunday, 29 July 1962, at 5 a.m. in her home after a one year illness. Mr.
Orr, a retired farmer, died on July 10.
Don Kester, minister of Walnut St. Church of
Christ and Jack Exum, of Fort Worth, formerly minister of Grand Avenue Church of
Christ, conducted the services. Burial was in the Luella Cemetery.
Morris Lee Orr, Mike Kumler, Donald Dalton,
Gene Orr and Joe Vanneste were pallbearers.
Mrs. Orr was born near Pottsboro Sept 28, 1886
and had lived in Sherman for the last 12 years. She was the daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. George Porter. She and Mr. Orr were married in December, 1905 in Pottsboro.
She had lived in the Luella community for many years before moving to Sherman.
She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Barrett

sister, Miss Lottie Porter and two brothers, Ed and Charley Porter, all of
Denison; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
