  The Herald Democrat June 30, 2010 QUITMAN - H.L. Harless, 62-year-old Quitman resident, died Sunday, June 27, 2010 at East Texas Medical Center. Services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 1 at Johnson-Moore Pottsboro Chapel. Burial followed at Locust Cemetery. Mr. Harless was born on February 22, 1948 in Sherman, son of Oran Jack and Martha Moore Longshore Harless. He graduated from Sherman High School and attended Tarleton State College in Stephenville. Mr. Harless worked as an employee for Wood County and was a Baptist. He loved the outdoors, enjoyed playing the guitar and spending time with his family and friends. Surviving are his loving companion, Sue Butler of Quitman; daughter, Trina Cummings of Pottsboro; brother, Jack Harless and wife, Jan, of Plano; sister, Kay Boyer and husband, Harold, of Quitman; grandson, Kevin Cummings and wife, Sara, of Denison, and granddaughter, Diana Booth of Tyler. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Don Harless. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to your local food bank.
