FATALLY INJURED
Mr. Arch. Lankford, who resides 2 1-2 miles east of the city, and who is well known in Denison, died at his home at 2 o'clock p.m. Tuesday from injuries and exposure sustained while returning home from this city Monday night.  At a late hour that evening he left the city on horseback, and under the influence of liquor.
On the way home he must have fallen from his horse, as he was found lying unconscious upon the road next morning by a wood-hauler, and conveyed to his home.  Drs. White and Jones were summoned, and upon examination he was foundto have sustained a fracture of the skull, besides numerous bruises upon the body.  In addition to this the night was fearfully cold which, in itself, was enough to have compassed his death.  Every thing possible was done for him but to no purpose, he died at 2 o'clock that same afternoon.  The deceased was well known in this city, having been born and brought up in this neighborhood.  He owned the track of land on which he lived, a very valuable one, and had been engaged for the past three years in the dairy business.  He was about 35 years old, and leaves an aged mother to lament his decease.
