Funeral services for Bobbie Gene Hazelwood, age 79, of Savoy, Texas were held Thursday morning, July 1, 2010 at the Waldo
Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Preston Bennett and Rev. Harold Mills officiated and the burial followed at the Kendall Chapel Cemetery in Southmayd, Texas. Bobbie passed away on June 28, 2010 at his residence in Savoy.

He was born on February 12, 1931. son of Raymond Earl and Mary Beatrice (Souther) Hazelwood. Bobbie served in the Navy during
the Korean War and was on the Mount Katmai Ship. When he got out of the service, he married Norma Jean Ulmer in Sherman, Texas on August 6, 1954. They have  5 daughters. Bobbie was in the Welding Business, he started out working for Andrew Korith then he started his own welding business south of Sherman. Bobbie and family moved from Sherman to Savoy, Texas in 1966. They built their home using the bricks that came from the old Katy Depot. Bob owned his own dairy business, with his girls and wife as his help. Some of the sons-in-law later helped out. He was in it until all the girls graduated. He went back into the welding business for a few more years with his sons-in-law. When he retired he started delivering trailers for Hale Trailers. He and Norma went all over the states. When he retired from that, they traveled and camped.

He is survived by his wife, Norma Jean Hazelwood of Savoy, Texas; 5 daughters, Shirley Ramsey and husband Dennis of Savoy, Texas, Vicky Reynolds and husband Arnie of Savoy, Texas, Reba Wagoner and husband Mickey of Athens, Texas, Lanna Cox and husband Mike of Savoy, Texas and Lisa Seigler and husband Darren of Savoy, Texas; 2 brothers, Billy Hazelwood and Vicki Martin of Denison, Texas and James Hazelwood of Southmayd, Texas, 3 sisters, Mildred Bullard and husband Olan of Sherman, Texas, Wanda Reichert and husband Danny of Howe, Texas and Peggy Bailey and Ron of Pensacola, Florida. Bobbie was also survived by 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers were his grandsons, Travis Reynolds, Mitch Wagoner, Jeremy Reynolds, Matt Cox, Mason Cox, Ethan Seigler and brothers James Hazelwood and Billy Hazelwood.

Funeral services for Norma Jean Hazelwood were held Saturday morning, January 23, 2021 at Kendall Chapel Cemetery.  Rev. Bill Sessom and Rev. Chris Merritt officiated.  Honorary pallbearers were Don Ulmer, Jerry Ulmer, Glen Ulmer, Travis Reynolds, Jeremy Reynolds, Matt Cox, Ethan Seigler and Mitchell Wagoner.  Mrs. Hazelwood, 87, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2021 at Cedar Hollow Rehabilitation Center.
Norma was born December 1, 1933 in Cooke County, daughter of David and Nora Cravens Ulmer.  She graduated from Southmayd schools and married Bobbie Gene Hazelwood on August 6, 1954 in Sherman.  Norma worked as a telephone operator early in her marriage but later became a devoted homemaker.  She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and was an excellent cook.  Mrs. Hazelwood was a member of the First Baptist Church of Savoy.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 56 years; son-in-law, Dennis Ramsey; 3 sisters, Wanda Wilkerson, Rachel Jones, and Linda Morgan; and one brother, Gerald Ulmer.
She is survived by 5 daughters: Shirley Ramsey of Savoy; Vicky Reynolds and husband, Arnie, of Savoy; Reba Wagoner and husband, Mickey, of Swenson, Texas; Lanna Cox and husband, Mike, of Savoy; and Lisa Siegler of Bailey; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.  She is also survived by 3 brothers, Glen Ulmer of Sherman; Don Ulmer and wife, Nelda, of Pottsboro; and Jerry Ulmer and wife, Carolyn, of Howe; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mike Morgan of Luella; and Thomas Jones of Tom Bean; Wanda Reichert and husband, Danny, of Howe; Mildred Bullard and husband, Olan, of Sherman; Peggy Bailey and husband, Ron, of Florida; Bill Hazelwood and Vicki of Denison; and James Hazelwood of Southmayd.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Savoy Building Fund.
