John Wayne Watson 23 June 1948 - Margaret 'Brian' Krauter Watson 31 January 1943 - 3 August 2008 Margaret
"Brian" Watson was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the daughter of
James "Jim" & Marcella Wynn Krauter. She passed away at her
residence in Southmayd, Texas after a 10 month battle with cancer.
She attended school at St. Joseph's Catholic School in Ada, Oklahoma and High School at St. Scholastic High School in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. After high school she entered the convent and was a Benedictine Sister, Sister Brian, for 9 years. Graduating from the University of Arkansas with a BA in Science she became a Medical Technologist. On August 15, 1971 she married John Wayne Watson in Sherman, Texas and they were blessed with three children. Moving to Texas she worked at Sherman Community Hospital and later Essen Clinic. In the early 1980's she owned & operated Country Ceramic's in Southmayd. Brian later received her Texas Teaching Certificate and her Masters in Special Education from TWU in Denton, Texas. She taught in Gunter, Texas for 9 years, Texas Youth Commission in Gainesville, Texas for 5 years and retired May 2008 from St. Mary's Catholic School in Sherman. Brian was the first President of the S&S PTO. She helped start the S&S Cloverleaf 4-H Club and remained active in Grayson County 4-H for over 25 years. She was a past president of the Van Alstyne Quilt Guild. Over the years has been very active in the St. Mary's Catholic Church and help start St. Frances Catholic Church in Whitesboro, Texas where she was a member. Brian's passion the last 5 years was St. Mary's Catholic School. She enjoyed and loved every teacher, student, and parent at the school. Family was very important part of her life, she never missed an event or activity that her kids where in. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, needle work, and baking. She also enjoyed collecting Hummel's, tea sets, and bells. Brian loved to spend time with her kids and grandkids. She loved playing with the grandkids swimming, the sandbox, and blowing bubbles. Left to mourn her passing and cherish her memories, she is survived by her husband John; daughter Kim Watson Neely & husband Rico; son Jim Watson all of Southmayd, son John W. Watson II & wife Sherry of Saginaw, Texas; 5 grandchildren Evan Watson, McKenzie Neely, Taylor Watson, Amanda Vespremi, Cortney Fraser; 1 Great Grandchild; sister Betty Phillips; mother-in-law Kathryn Watson both of Southmayd; sister-in-law Martha Kay Boyd & husband Larry of Irving; brother-in-law Robert Watson of Leonard. 2 nieces, 3 nephews, an aunt, numerous cousins and a host of friends. A rosary was recited by St Mary's Deacon John LeBlanc at Waldo Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian burial was conducted at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sherman with Father Jeremy Meyers officiating, assisted by Father Antonio Aureus, Deacon John LeBlanc, Deacon Tomas Avila and Deacon Albert Miller. Pallbearers were Keith Nelson, Nathan Wieck, Jerry Don Vinson, Sammy Brown, Kevin Bramer, and Adrian O'Hanlon. SOUTHMAYD, Texas — Mass of Christian burial for Margaret Maxine Krauter Watson, 65, Southmayd, Texas, will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sherman. Burial will follow at Kendall Chapel Cemetery Southmayd. Rosary will be recited at 6;30 p.m. today at Waldo Funeral Home with visitation following until 8 p.m. Mrs. Watson died Aug. 3, 2008, at her home.
