5 June 1919 - 1 March 2011  The Herald Democrat March 4, 2011 Denison - Mrs. Willie Mae Smith, 91, passed away Tuesday night, March 1, 2011 at 11 p.m. At the time of her death, she was residing at the Denison Manor Nursing Home. Mrs. Smith was born June 5, 1919 in Grayson County, daughter of Jim and Moriah Roberts Smith. One of five siblings, Thomas, Josephine, Edna, Willie Mae and Jimmy, all who preceded her in death. Willie Mae worked for Denison Poultry Produce and as custodian at Terrell School for many years. She loved the Lord and was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church where she served on the Usher board diligently until her health failed. Willie Mae was taken care of by two of her beloved nephewns, Harry Smith and Bobby Taylor. Mrs. Smith is survived by her extended loving family of nieces and nephews. Graveside services were held Saturday morning, March 5, 2011 at Jeremiah Cemetery with Rev. Michael Braxton officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home in Denison.
