Geraldine Johnson 1943 - 2019 Geraldine Johnson, 75, of Sherman, Texas, passed away at Texoma Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family, Sunday, September 1, 2019. Geraldine was born on December 16, 1943 in Denison, Texas, daughter of Percy D. Gilley & Bessie Lee Isom Gilley. She was a homemaker and loved doing and caring for her family. Geraldine was very passionate about her family and loved cooking country meals for them. She was a friends to all and always willing to help anyone in need. She also enjoyed music and loved to dance around the house. She loved her flowers that she tended in her garden area. Geraldine’s husband, Ernest, was retired Navy, 22 years, also retired from Kraft Foods. He enjoyed the outdoors and his garden and was a member of the United Pentecostal Church. Their wishes were to be laid to rest together. She is survived by her children: Dino Gilley DeBlasio & Corey Ann of Arlington, Texas; Gina Hill of Sherman, Texas; Deanetta Johnson of Sherman, Texas; her sister; Wilma McIntosh & Terry of Missouri; brother; Bobby Gilley & Karen of Denison, Texas; 3 grandchildren; Haley Christina, Daurian, Grayson; 5 great-grandchildren: Arianna, Alec, Aubrey, Kyiden, Rayina; 2 special friends; Judith Rollins & James Buchanan; and other extended family & friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; and her parents. Graveside service were held Friday morning, September 6, 2019, at Isom Cemetery, Bells, Texas. Interment followed the service. Her husband, Ernest Samuel Johnson’s cremains will be laid to rest with her. Loved ones left behind to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Geraldine Johnson; 3 daughters, Rhonda Sue (Nonna Sue) Johnson Phillips and husband, Rodney; Gina Corbin; and Deanetta R. Johnson Vincent and husband, Jack, all of Sherman, Texas; one son, Dino Gilley and wife, CoriAnn of Arlington, Texas; 4 cherished grandchildren, Samantha Denise Johnson, Christina Danielle Atkins, Daurian Doriona Sommers, Noah Samuel Atkins and Grayson Dean Gilley; 2 beloved great-grandchildren, Arianna Danielle Atkins and Alec Grimes. Also, dear friend, Judith Lynn Rollins; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his loving parents; 3 brothers; 4 sisters; and beloved son, Rodney Samuel Johnson. Mr. Johnson was cremated according to his wishes and there were services planned. Arrangements were under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home, located at 604 West Main in Denison.
