Anderson 1912 - 1984 1st Lieutenant US Army WWII Van Alstyne Leader January 5, 1984 Services for Ernest Rayburn Anderson, 71, of Ft. Worth, were held Wednesday in Flesher Funeral Home in Van Alstyne with burial in Holloway Cemetery. He died Sunday at his home. Mr. Anderson was born in Commerce, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest James Anderson; he married Opal Blythe Stewart March 9, 1948 in McAllen. He was a member of the Northside Baptist Church in Ft. Worth and was a retired salesman for the Burroughs Co. A World War II veteran, he received the Asiatic Pacific Theater with three bronze service stars, the Purple Heart and Oak Leaf Cluster for the Purple Heart. Surviving are his wife; step-daughters, Billie Padilla of Ft. Worth and Tommie Macy of Shreveport, Louisiana; sisters, Mary Helen Farris of Abilene and Dorothy Gegax of Ft.
