Joseph Allison 18 September 1878 - 23 November 1954 Sherman Democrat October 20, 1948 pg.2 Howe, Texas - Funeral services for Millard Fillmore Allison, 91, retired farmer who died at home Tuesday at 4:45 p.m., were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Howe Baptist Church. Burial was in Holloway Cemetery, directed by Dannel Funeral Home. Millard was born in Tennessee, July 4, 1857. He came to Texas 59 years ago. Survivors include his son, William Joseph Allison of Sherman; his daughter, Mrs. Delia Frances Allison Wood of Howe; 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Sherman Democrat March 31, 1975 pg. 13 Sherman, Texas - Funeral service was held Wednesday in the Dripping Springs Baptist Church for William Joseph Allison, 76, retired farmer, who died Tuesday at 6 a.m. in Wilson N. Jones Hospital. He lived on Route 1, Sherman. Rev. D.A. Nowell of Dripping Springs and Rev. W.J. Epting of Sherman officiated. Pallbearers were James Allison, Robert Allison, J.D. Allison, Jr., Guy Honeycutt, W.T. Allison, Nolin Allison and Eunice Allison. Burial was in Holloway Cemetery, directed by Waldo Funeral Home. Allison had farmed in the Sherman area for 45 years before retiring in 1945 because of ill health. He was a native of Knoxville, Tennessee and came to Grayson County at the age of 7. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Jimmie Stowe Allison; 2 sons, L.D. Allison of Denison and James Millard Allison, Sr. of Sherman; 2 daughters, Jessie Lee Allison Honeycutt and Lula Frances Blair, both of Sherman; sister, Dela Frances Allison Woods of Howe; 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
