  Jo Juana Summitt 13 April 1922 - 31 December 1998 Jefferson Boyd Summitt 9 November 1919 - 15 December 2003 wed 25 November 1943  Sherman Democrat Friday, January 1, 1999 Page A8 SHERMAN - Funeral services for Jo Juana Summit were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 2, at East Sherman Baptist Church. Mrs. Summit, who was 76, died at Sherman Community Hospital Thursday morning. Reverend Tim Clayton officiated and burial was at Holloway Cemetery in Luella. Services were under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home. Mrs. Summit was born April 13, 1922, in Van Alstyne, Texas, the daughter of George Fischer Johnson and Letha Odell Mullinex Johnson. She was married to Jefferson Boyd Summit November 25, 1943, at the Perrin Air Force Base Chapel. Mrs. Summit made her home in Sherman for 51 years and belonged to East Sherman Baptist Church for 50 years. Surviving are her husband, J. B. Summitt, and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Tom Hulsey, Joe Ward, Bob Alexander, R.C. Corzine, Howard Smith and Jack Pilcher. Honorary pallbearers were deacons of East Sherman Baptist Church.
