The Herald Democrat September 10, 2013 SHERMAN - Larry Charles Boyington was born March 26, 1943 in Springfield, Illinois to Charles and Mary Boyington and passed from this life on Sunday, September 8, 2013 at his home outside of Sherman. Larry worked as a pipefitter most of his life in many cities. He was a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 100 of Dallas, National Rifle Association, Texoma Radio Control Modelers Club, Academy of Model Aeronautics, Cushman Club of America, Harley Owners Group, ABATE, Sheriff's Association of Texas and a graduate of Cooke County Community College in Gainesville. Larry married the love of his life, Ramona Powell, on May 10, 1982 in Denton, Texas. Larry was a licensed pilot and enjoyed flying modular airplanes. His hobbies were target shooting, bird hunting, fishing, racing cars, riding motorcycles, and being out on the boat. Larry's joy was being with all his family and spending time with them. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters, Kayla Bruckner and Judy Boyington. Larry is survived by his wife, Ramona of the home; son, Robert Devane Green; daughters, Lisa Diane Taylor and her husband Darren, Sharon Michelle Shull and her husband Bill, and Mary Joe Powell; one brother, L.R. Boyington and his wife, Lieuen; six grandsons, Christopher, Jacob, Alexander, Hunter, Jason and Brandon; and other extended family members. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 12, at Waldo Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Brian Sturgin officiating. Committal services followed at Holloway Cemetery in Luella. Serving as pallbearers were Bill Shull, Doug Powell, Bobby Green, Darren Taylor, Jason Taylor and Bobby Powell. Honorary pallbearers were L.R. Boyington, Alex Taylor, Hunter Allen and Jacob Allen.
