Texas - James Weldon Hestand, 85, of Bryan, Texas and formerly of
Grand Prairie, Texas, passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at St.
Joseph Hospital in Bryan, Texas.
He was born December 1, 1929 in Luella, Texas to John Savage Hestand and Ermine Recer Hestand. He married Hazel Wheat in 1994. He is survived by step-son Frank Greenlee, step-daughter Glenda Bergdoll and husband John, grandchildren Renee Scott, Andy Montgomery, Billy Rogers, Charlotte Fuleki, Lesli Ann Speilman, Michelle Rene Cole, Alecia Guerra, Martye Williams, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Hazel, parents, John and Erman Hestand, brothers Fred, Roy, Lester, sisters Ruby Pearl, Edith Mae, and step grandson Gary Nunley. Funeral services were Sunday, December 28, 2014 at the Scoggins Funeral Home Chapel in Van Alstyne, with Rev. Gary Gibbs officiating. Burial followed at the Holloway Cemetery in Luella, Texas.
