George Henry "Man" Hawthorne, 70, of Howe, Texas passed away June 8, 2010 at his home.  He was born April 4, 1940 in Garvin, Oklahoma, son of James Oliver and Gladys Melviner Williams Hawthorne.  George worked for Burlington Industries and MagnaFab; he was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by daughter, Linda Hawthorne of Howe; sons, Gary Hawthorne of Denver, Colorado and Larry Hawthorne of Sherman; brother, Steve Hawthorne of Howe; sisters, Allie Hargrove and husband, C.W., of Sherman; Annie Peacock and husband, Dan, of Howe; Velma Frampton and husband, Cashman, of Howe; and Betty Griffin of Denison; 13 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held Saturday, June 12, at Holloway Cemetery, with Gary Gibbs officiating.

SHERMAN - Linda Hawthorne, 69, of Sherman passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2011, at her residence. Arrangements were under the direction of Dannel Funeral Home. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 21, 2011, at Dannel Funeral Home with Pastor Leland Samuelson officiating. Interment followed in Holloway Cemetery.
Linda Rigsbay Hawthorne was born in Cleburne, Texas on January 30, 1942 to Willie Rigsbay and Sadie (Kenyon) Rigsbay. She was married to George Hawthorne. She was employed for a short time at Burlington Cotton Mill in Sherman, Texas before she was employed by TI (MEMC) in 1971. She worked 30 years there before retiring.
God was very important in her life, and she was a blessing to those around her. She always enjoyed family time with her children and grandchildren and all her friends and family. She was loved and will be missed by everyone.
Surviving Linda are her sons Larry Hawthorne of Sherman; and Gary Hawthorne and wife Paula of Aurora, Colorado; daughter Landa Hawthorne of Howe; brothers Jack Rigsbay and wife Janice of Luella, and Albert Rigsbay of Sherman; sisters Annie Garrett and husband Robert of Denison, Ethel Woodson and husband Kenneth of Denison, Lois Ulch and husband Robert of Denison, Estelle Graham and husband Ray of Gainesville, and Geraldine Monolo and husband Reno of St. Louis, Missouri. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren Justin Hawthorne of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Greg Hawthorne of Arkansas, Bradley Hawthorne of North Pole, Alaska, Chris Hawthorne and wife Cindy, Christyn Henderson, James Henderson, Joseph Hawthorne, Anthony Hawthorne, and Courtney Hawthorne, all of Howe, Taylor Hawthorne of College Station, Patrick Murphy of Denison, Behati Hawthorne of Aurora, Colorado, Logan Widdison and Kendra Veggers of Bryan, Texas and 8 great-grandchildren Kyle, Liam, and Braxton Hawthorne of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Aubrey Hawthorne, Alexus Walker, and Addison Williams all of Howe, and Natalie Widdison and Kaleb Viggers of Bryan. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Hawthorne; parents, Willie and Sadie Rigsbay; brothers William Rigsbay and Joe Rigsbay; and nephew Larry Don Cheatham.
Pallbearers were Chris Hawthorne, James Henderson, Joseph Hawthorne, Anthony Hawthorne, and Patrick Murphy, all grandsons; and Charles Carr.
