Windle L. Golden 14 December 1919 - 11 May 2010 LaVerne Golden 27 July 1929 - 10 August 2017 wed 19 July 1952 Funeral services for Windle Lee Golden were held Friday, May 14, 2010 in the Waldo Funeral Home Chapel, with Mike Bentley of Whitesboro Church of Christ officiating. Burial followed at Holloway Cemetery. Pallbearers were Welby Pleasant, Bob Cathey, Jim Milton, Hubert Baker, Wilburn Grisham, and Beryl Mackey. Mr. Golden passed away Tuesday, May 11th at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital-WNJ. Windle was born December 14, 1919 in Sherman, son of Elbert Lee and Bertha May Coe Golden. His family moved to Marshall Co., Oklahoma when he was young. He attended Kenlock, Grantham and Timberhill Schools and graduated from Alyesworth in 1940. Windle returned to Sherman in 1941 to work at Interstate Cotton Oil & Refining Co., which later became Mrs. Tuckers, then Anderson Clayton Foods, where he retired in 1983 after 39 years. He married LaVerne Dickson on July 19, 1952 in Sherman. He was a member of Parkview Chruch of Christ where he served as a deacon for several years. Windle is survived by his wife of 57 years; daughters, Shirley Austin of Yukon, Oklahoma; and Linda Signer of Sherman; grandchildren, Drew, Heidi, and Chris Austin; sister Betty Golden Craig; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; baby sister; brothers, Robert Spearman and Billy Joe Golden; and sons-in-law, Andy Austin and Pete Signer. Yukon, Oklahoma - Funeral services for LaVerne Dickson Golden were held at 10:00 AM Monday, August 14 at Waldo Funeral Home. Welton Stoker of the Parkview Church of Christ officiated. Burial followed at Holloway Cemetery. Mrs. Golden, 88, passed away Thursday, August 10 at the Ranchwood Nursing Center in Yukon, Oklahoma. LaVerne was born July 27, 1929 in Howe, Texas to the late John Lewis Dickson and Opal (Giles) Dickson. She graduated from Howe High School in 1946 and married Windle Lee Golden on July 19, 1952 in Sherman. She and Windle had been married almost 58 years when he passed away in May 2010. Mrs. Golden was a devoted homemaker and longtime member of the Parkview Church of Christ. LaVerne is survived by two daughters, Shirley Austin of Yukon and Linda Signer of McKinney; two grandchildren Drew Austin and his wife Heidi of Yukon and Chris Austin of Edmond; and one great grandchild, Zach Austin of Yukon. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons-in-law, Andy Austin and Pete Signer, and one great-grandson, Milton Andrew Austin IV.
