Ronald was born July 18, 1943 in Bonham, Texas, the son of John Henry and Bettie Bolin Culifer. He married Macel Darnell on February 14, 1999 in San Marcos, Texas.
Ronald was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, and Sons of the Confederate Veterans. He joined the U.S. Navy in July 1960. He medically retired as a Cheif Petty Officer. His type of work and duties were as leading Chief Petty Officers of Explosives Ordanances Disposal (technician) Team. All of the work was highly classified, mostly top secret, and all were de-briefed at the conclusion of every job.
He was a graduate of Chemical and Biological Warfare School in Fort McClellan, Alabama. During his service in Vietnam, he was 1 of 13 Navy servicemen that held the position of Master Ordanance Disposal. Due to his type of service, accomplishments cannot be revealed. He was one of the original Navy Frogmen that later transitioned into the U.S. Navy Seals.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Marcel of Tom Bean, Texas.

Sons: Greg and Janie Culifer of Howe, Texas and Johnny and Kat Culifer of Luella, Texas; daughter, Susan and husband Billy . Hancock of Denison, Texas; sister, Sandra and husband Buggs Brown of Bells, Texas; brother, John Bolin Culifer of Bells, Texas; stepchildren, Tracie Hood of San Marcos, Texas; Tonya Hood of McKinney, Texas; Tommy C. Hood of Whitesboro, Texas.
Grandchildren: Stephanie Smith, Robin Skyles, Carl Culifer, Austin Hancock, Mike Hancock, James Culifer, Jake Culifer, Johnathon Culifer, Carissa Jeter, and Ethan Guerrero and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Ronald Culifer were at 10:00am Saturday, December 22, 2007 at Mullican-Little Funeral Chapel, conducted by Rev. Larry Jackson and Rev. Dan Bray.
Interment was in Holloway Cemetery near Lueilla, Texas.  The U.S. Navy Honor Guard performed Honors at the cemetery.
