  John R. Stephenson passed away on January 16, 2023 at the age of 72. He is preceded in death by his parents, Bobby Joe and Dorothy Stephenson; and siblings, Carl, Perry, Larry, Janet Tucker, Carol Jarman, and Kathleen Stephenson. John was born in Sherman, Texas on November 19, 1950 and attended schools in Bells, Texas. After graduating in 1969, he landed his first job with Texas Power and Light, which lasted several years. In 1980 he seized the opportunity to pursue his true passion as a contractor in heavy equipment construction. His long career continued until his retirement in 2016. He leaves behind a wife of 47 years, Dianna; son, Shawn; grandson, Brey and wife, Neresssa; sisters, Sandra Bowers and Paula Sandoval Alegria; grandnieces, Mycah and Taylor Merchant; and many other family members, loved ones and friends that will truly miss him.
