Cynthia "Cindy" Blythe Hahn, 74, of Denison, was called home by her Lord and Saviour Thursday, October 7,  2021.
She was born September 1, 1947 in Alvin, Texas, daughter of Elmer Franklin "Sam" and Louise McElvaney Deer Blythe.
On April 20, 1987, Cindy married J.R. Hahn in Lake Worth, Texas.  And, for 34 years, J.R.'s best friend and confidant, his precious wife had been by his side through thick and thin. Sometimes more than thick, but she always stuck it out.
She was loved by so many people, those who have said, "If it had not been for her, I would not be alive," "She talked me out of a divorce," "She helped me learn to trust people again," "She was there for me when I got out of prison."   The list goes on and on.  She asked God many years ago to let her see people's hearts and not their hang-ups.  She just loved people and had wisdom beyond herself to help people see a different way of looking at a situation.   Cindy was a true follower of God; she loved everybody no matter their ethnicity.  She lived her life in such a way that there was no doubt about where she was going when her life was over. She told J.R., " You are not singing at MY funeral." and also "Don't you dare cremate me, I have lived my whole life trying to stay out of the fire, I'm not going in the fire on purpose."  She was a precious woman and will be sorely missed by family and friends.
Cindy was a faithful member of Refuge Church, Denison.
She is survived by her husband of Denison; children: John David Sanford of Bailey; Robert Sanford of Krum; W.D. Sanford of Denton; Perry Sanford of Krum; Scott Hahn of Lodi, California; Andrew Hahn of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Jamie Fleming of Celina; adopted children: Charlie McWhirter; Steven Scott; Eddie Solis; Teressa McWhirter.  She is also survived by her sisters, Nancy Blythe of Houston; Chris Tennery of Ennis; and brother: John Emmet Blythe and wife, Donna, of Palestine; and Elmer Franklin Blythe, Jr. of Palestine; 10 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Patricia Cunningham.
The funeral, a Celebration of Cindy's life, was held Saturday afternoon at Refuge Church, Denison.  Burial followed at Holloway Cemetery, Luella.   Officiating were Pastors Larry Tillman, Andrew Hahn and Larry Goodwin.
