McDANIEL Denison - Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Sunday in Waldo Funeral Chapel, Sherman, for Arthur Madison McDaniel, 80, of Denison, a retired farmer, who died at 5:25 p.m. Friday in the Tom Bean Rest Home, after a 16-weeks illness. Rev. Ernest Potter, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, Denison, and Rev. Malcolm Brown, Associate Pastor of the church, doncucted the services. BUrial was in Holloway Cemetery near Tom Bean. S.A. Mosier, Gene Kitchens, Everett Sutherland, Elzie Sutherland, Lloyd Sutherland and Lewis McDaniel were pallbearers. He and Mrs. McDaniel would have observed their 60th wedding anniversary Friday. Mr. McDaniel was born May 8, 1881 in Salem, Illinois, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Irving McDaniel. He retired a year ago after farming south of Sherman since 1901. On July 21, 1901 he married Miss Belle Cary. He had lived in Grayson County since 1888. He was a member of Central Baptist Church, Sherman. Survivors besides his wife are two sons, Jeff McDaniel of Tom Bean and Hack McDaniel of Denison; six daughters, mrs. H.A. Flowers and Mrs. Ethyl McKinney, both of Dallas; Mrs. D.W. Mosier and Mrs. Jane Ham, both of Sherman; Mrs. Faye Perkins of Tom Bean; and Mrs. J.T. McNutt of Waxahachie; a brother, Lou McDaniel of Holdenville, Oklahoma; a sister, Mrs. Myrtle Davis of South Texas; 22 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
