HOLLOWAY, 88, VETERAN OF GRAY, DIES Special to the News Sherman, Texas, May 28 - John M. Holloway, 88, Confederate veteran, who died Monday at his home, was buried Tuesday afternoon near Howe following funeral services at the Howe Baptist Church. Holloway was born in Louisiana and served through the Civil War in Co. H, Louisiana Calvary. He moved to Texas in 1868. Surviving him are his wife; 4 daughters, Mrs. Mary Meeks of Bailey; Mrs. Cora Baughn of Durant, Oklahoma; Mrs. Sally Watts of Randlett, Oklahoma; and Mrs. Lillie Aldridge of Saskawa, Oklahoma; 2 sons, Roy Holloway of Randlett and Marshall Holloway of Glenwood, Arkansas; and 37 grandchildren.

- Funeral services were held Saturday for John Marshall Holloway, 61,
who died Friday at a McKinney hospital following a brain hemorrhage on
Monday. Services were held at Celina Baptist Church, conducted by
Rev. J.R. Hilger, Baptist minister of Greenville and Rev. E.T. Wooten,
pastor of Celina Baptist Church. Burial was in Holloway Cemetery
near Howe, directed by Helms Funeral Home of Celina. He was born July 12, 1888 in Grayson County, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Marshall Holloway. He was married at Pottsboro on August 17, 1912 to Mrs. Eula Mostrom. He had been a resident of Collin County for the past 5 years and recently purchased a farm north of Weston. He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife; 2 daughters, Mrs. Zeb Harris of Weston and Mrs. Ernest Young of Anna; 4 grandchildren; 3 sisters, Mrs.W.E. Meek of Bonham; Mrs. Cora Vaughn of Ida, Oklahoma; and Mrs. Lillie Aldrich of Stockton, Oklahoma.
