Funeral services were held Saturday in the Southmayd Baptist Church for Thomas Benton Holloway, 74, of Whitesboro, Rt. 2, who died at 3:40 p.m. Thursday in a Sherman hospital.  He had been director of the Federal Land Bank.  Rev. Frank Powe and Rev. Fry, Baptist ministers, conducted the services.  Burial was in Holloway Cemetery, directed by Dannel Funeral Home.  Carl Vessel, Hershell Griffin, Johnny Gibbons, Mike Dagnan, Mack Shelton, John Bell, Marvin Brown and Bill Waldrop were pallbearers.
Mr. Holloway was born July 1, 1888 in Grayson County, son of Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Holloway.  On September 25, 1910 he married Miss Effie Elmore in Sherman.  He was a retired farmer and a member of Southmayd Baptist Church, which he served as a deacon,  He was a Mason.
Survivors include his wife; 3 sons, Alton Holloway and Johnnie Holloway, both of Sherman; and T.B. Holloway, Jr. of Bailey; 2 daughters, Mrs. Wilma Dennard and Mrs. Virginia Griffin, both of Sherman; a brother, J.L. Holloway of Van Alstyne; a sister, Mrs. J.T. Ferguson of Muskogee, Oklahoma; and 8 grandchildren.


Mrs. T.B. Holloway, a Grayson County resident for most of her life, died Sunday night in a Sherman hospital after an extended illness.  Funeral services were held Tuesday in Dannel Funeral Chapel with Rev. Tommy Cupples of the Southmayd Baptist Church conducting the services.  Burial was in Holloway Cemetery under the direction of Dannel and Son Funearl Home.
Mrs. Holloway, 81, was born August 24, 1887 in Harrison, Arkansas, daughter of John and Martha Elmore.  At an early age she and her family moved to Grayson County, where they have since lived.  On September 25, 1910, she married Thomas B. Holloway.
Survivors include 3 sons, Alton Holloway of Sherman; Johnnie Holloway of Sherman; and T.B. Holloway, Jr. of Rt. 2, Whitesboro; 2 daughters, Mrs. Wilma Dennard of Sherman and Mrs. Virginia Griffin of Sherman; a brother, Ed Elmore of Harrison, Arkansas; and 8 grandchildren.

Gearald Alton Holloway died December 15, 2000 at a Sherman hospital.
He was born December 7, 1915 in Howe, Texas, son of Thomas and Effie Elmore Holloway.  He married Kathleen Coleman on June 2, 1940 in Durant, Oklahoma.
He is survived by his wife; sisters, Wilma Dennard and Virginia Griffin; brothers, T.B. Holloway, Jr. and John R. Holloway; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Burial was in Holloway Cemetery.
