The Dallas Morning News January 15, 1939 SOUTHWEST DEATHS Special to The News Sherman, Texas, Jan. 14 - Services were held Friday at the Holloway Cemetery for Mrs. L.A. Holloway, 85, wife of the late George W. Holloway, who died at the home of her son, G.W. Holloway, 4 miles east of Howe. Born in Bossier Parish, Louisiana, she moved to Texas with her parents in 1872, settling on a farm between Tom Bean and Farmington in 1871. She was married the same year to George W. Holloway, who died in 1900. She had lived in Grayson County the greater part of the time since coming to Texas. She was the mother of 9 children, 3 surviving: Mrs. Ada Curry and Jack Holloway of Sherman; and Mr. Holloway of Howe; a brother, Jim Martin of Denison; 27 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren also survive.
