The Sherman Register April 30, 1887 Jesse Baxter, who has been a citizen for a number of years, and who has made his home for a number of years south of the city a few miles, died last evening at 8 o'clock and was buried at Holloway Cemetery this afternoon at 4 o'clock. He had reached his allotted three score and ten, and had always proven a kind and indulgent father and husband and a good citizen. Peace to his ashes.
