   Flower Mound, Texas - Michael Lars Andersen was born August 19, 1945 in Brooklyn, New York and was raised in new Fairfield, Connecticut. Mike joined the Navy and sailed on the Shangri-La during the Vietnam War. He moved to Texas in 1982 and married a Texas girl, Carol Holloway, and claimed Texas as his home. He retired from the Marriott Corporation in 2012 where hehad worked as a chief engineer. He spent his retirement reconnecting with childhood friends, puttering around the house working on computers. Mike is survived by his wife of 30 years; his son, Michael Alan Andersen of Daytona Beach, Florida; 3 brothers, Danny, Glenn and Alan; his baby sister, Margaret. Mike is also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law Janie and Glenn Smith; Troy Quinn and and Martha Holloway; beloved nieces, Amy McAlister and Sara Smith; newphews, Stephen Andersen, Kristian Andersen, Dale Smith and Shannon Holloway; great-nephews, Ashton Smith and Quinn Holloway; and great-niece, Jasmine McAlister. Graveside services were held with military honors Friday, December 15, 2017 at Holloway Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Scoggins Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Alstyne.
