  Vera Pearl Farris 18 April 1940 - 16 May 2014  The Herald Democrat May 18, 2014 Denison - Vera Pearl Farris, age 74, went home to be with the Lord Friday, May 16, 2014 at Homestead of Denison. Mrs. Farris was born April 18, 1940 in Colbert, Okla., the daughter of James Miles and Iva Pearl (Stapp) Godbey. Vera attended schools in Denison. She was a kind hearted woman who had a wonderful sense of humor. Vera enjoyed visiting and sharing stories with family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Mrs. Farris is survived by her family: son, Chris Doyle Vick of Denison, Texas; daughter, Evelyn Bearrow and husband David of Plano, Texas; son, Richard McConnell Sr. of Roswell, NM; grandchildren: Cory Vick, Christina Vick, Angela Cline, Bethany McKay, Hannah McConnell, Sara McConnell, and Todd Vick; six great-grandchildren; brother, James Godbey and wife Callan of Denison, Texas. She was preceded in death by her son, Leonard Vick; granddaughter, Nina Vick; parents; brothers, David Ray Godbey, Thomas Norris Godbey, and J.L. Godbey; sisters, Mary Francis Pruitt, Barbara Mae Higgins and Pamela Belgard. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Hebron Cemetery with Rev. Keith Taylor officiating. Family visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Fisher Funeral Home.
