Edna M. Boatright 11 May 1930 - 27 January 2015 Ivie E. Boatright 10 June 1929 - 28 February 2008 The Herald Democrat January 30, 2015 Denison - Edna May Boatright slipped peacefully into the arms of Jesus Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at home with her daughter by her side. Edna May Ferguson was born the fifth of eight children to Otis and Linnie (Savage) Ferguson in Denison, Texas. When asked her age, she would reply, "age is just a number and mine is unlisted." Edna grew up and lived in Denison her entire life. She attended Denison High School and was DHS first tumbler and was later a majorette. She married Ivie Boatright and together they had a daughter, Peggy. Edna was a very independent and proud person, working all her life at numerous businesses after graduating from Draughan's Business College. In the early 90s, she was opening and caring for people in her home. She made the best Sweet Tea in Texas and was an excellent cook. Edna loved life and to have fun by dancing, laughing, listening to country music and most of all spending time and taking care of her family. Edna is survived by her beloved family, daughter Peggy Moore and husband Terry; grandchildren, Mike Collins and Holly Collins; great-grandchildren, SPC Rhett Booher and wife, Megan, Tori Booher, Hayli Collins Reams, Hunter Collins and Bryson Collins and expecting a great-great-granddaughter in April; brothers-in-law, Leo McKee and Bill Byers; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and adoptive grandson, Laramie Dorris and family. She was preceded in death by Ivie Boatright, her parents, brothers Otis, Jim Bob and Jake Ferguson and sisters, Winnie Hodge, Lois McKee, Pat Pope and Peggy Byers. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 2 at Fisher Funeral Chapel with Pastor Duane Peters officiating. Interment will follow in Hebron Cemetery. There is no set time for family visitation. Pallbearers will be SPE Rhett Booher, Laramie Dorris, Bub Moore, Larry McKee, James Ferguson and Steven McMillan. Honorary pallbearer will be Lynn McKee. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials to be made in her name to Home Hospice of Grayson County, P.O. Box 2306, Sherman, Texas 75091.
