Sam C. Hendrix 1882 - 1960 Nellie M. Hendrix 1882 - 1943 The Whitewright Sun Thursday, July 15, 1943 pg. 1 Mrs. Nellie Hendrix, 61, died late Sunday afternoon at her home southeast of Whitewright after an illness of four months. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Hebron Cemetery north of Bells, with sons and grandsons as pallbearers. Mrs. Hendrix was born June 17, 1882 in Tennessee, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S.A. Stapp. She came to Texas when seven years of age, and was married to Sam Hendrix in 1901 at Princeton, Collin County. The family had resided north of Bells and at Savoy for the past 35 years before moving southeast of town in January of this year. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors are her husband; ten children, Joseph Hendrix of Trenton, Mrs. Duncan of Georgia, Mrs. Jim West and Mrs. Charlie Short of Trenton, Mrs. J.B. Grooms of Denison, J.R., Otis, Cecil, and John Henry Hendrix of the home address, and Mrs. Ray Beene of Bells; two sisters, Mrs. W.B. Hanna and Mrs. J.S. Auldridge of Bells; three brothers, Robert Stapp of Princeton, Tommie Stapp of Bells and Willie Stapp of Denison; 19 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
