Howe- Funeral services for Jimmie Milton Wormsbaker were held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, December 31 in the First Methodist Church of Howe. Rev. Lou Williams and Coach Steve Simmons officiated. Burial with Masonic Rites
and military honors followed at Hall Cemetery. Pallbearers were Blake Akins, Eric Akins, Russ Cane, Tim Cherry, Ryan Poindexter and Dave Sroufe. Eddy Hamilton, Bill Smith, and John Stephenson served as honorary pallbearers. Mr. Wormsbaker passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 28 at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center at the age of 58.
Jimmie was born on January 16, 1950 in Mexia, Texas. He graduated from Howe Schools in 1968 and later received  a business degree from Southeastern University. During the Vietnam War, Jimmie was drafted into the US Army, receiving the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, and National Defense Service Medal for his valiant service. On October 15, 1971 Jimmie and Donna Moses were married in Howe. He went to work for Texas Instruments/Raytheon in 1968 and retired in 2006 after 38 years. He was member of the Howe Masonic Lodge, the Elks Lodge, the DAV, and the First United Methodist Church of Howe. Jimmie was also a lifetime member of the VFW and Lions Club International. A dedicated husband, father, grandfather and friend to many, he will be remembered for his caring and giving nature, always willing to lend a helping  hand to anyone.
Mr. Wormsbaker is survived by his wife Donna of Howe; one daughter, Julie Bearden and husband Herb of Howe; one son,  Josh Wormsbaker and wife Dawn of Round Rock, Texas; grandchildren, Megan, Mason, and Matthew Bearden, Ava Wormsbaker, and a 5th grandchild that is due in March; mother, Martha Waller of Howe; one brother, Gene Stevens and wife Joy of Howe; two sisters, Sharon Montgomery and husband Al of Sherman and Debbie Brock and husband Perry of Brock, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephew, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Harold L. Waller.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Howe or the Howe Community Library
