September 9, 1999 Page 2 Naomi Alice Caldwell Beall passed away Wednesday, September 1, 1999 in Dorchester, Texas. Born October 29, 1912, to George Arthur Caldwell and Winnie Alice Caldwell at Thomas, Oklahoma, she later attended Southwestern State Teachers College in Weatherford, Oklahoma, where she met Oren Beall. They married on June 25, 1935. After Oren taught in Thomas, Oklahoma, the family moved to Seymour, Texas, where he was principal of the high school for 30 years. She was a devoted mother, raising four children there. Upon retirement in 1973, they moved to Dorchester, Texas where they farmed and became active in their local community and church, the Dorchester Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Order of the Easter Star, Daughters of the American Revolution, the Mantua Book Club and the Dorchester Women's Club. She was preceded in death [sic: is survived] by her children: Arthur and wife Barbara of Conroe, Texas; Margo and husband Charles Rice of Gunter, Texas; Ysleta and husband Steve Meek of Kansas City, Missouri; and Gilbert and wife Donna of Austin Texas. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A gifted artist and an encouragement to all, we should endeavor to emulate her caring and giving nature. Services will be held Saturday, September 4, 1999 at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Dorchester with interment following at Hall Cemetery.
