SHERMAN – Funeral services for Helen Marie Laughlin, 89, were held on Friday, November 9, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro, Texas with Mike Bentley officiating. Interment followed the service at Hall Cemetery in Howe, Texas. Mrs. Laughlin passed away on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 in Whitesboro, Texas.
Helen was born on October 14, 1923 in Midlothian, Texas to Jones and Ola Pearl (Weimer) McMillion. She married Thomas Loyd Laughlin on September 29, 1940, in Marietta, Oklahoma. Helen was a member of the church of Christ. She loved her family and enjoyed traveling and farming.
She is survived by her children: Tommy Laughlin and wife, Martha, of Hempstead, Texas; Judy Rue and husband, Rex, of Whitesboro, Texas; grandchildren: Sheri Beatty of Azle, Texas; Shelly Crockett of Hempstead, Texas; Dr. Brad Rue of Sherman, Texas; and David Laughlin of Dallas, Texas; eight great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; brother, Jimmy Don McMillion and brother-in-law, Glen Laughlin of Sherman as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Loyd Laughlin; her parents, Jones and Ola Pearl McMillion; siblings, Leroy McMillion, Lurlene Bridges, Maxine Smith and Betty Jean Richard; a son, Bobby Laughlin one grandchild, Ryan Rue.
Pallbearers are; Clayton Beatty, Terry Barrett, Tommy Foster, Danny Garrison, Charles McMillion and Ben Wible.
