Raymond Leslie Hestand, age 83 of Gunter, Texas passed away May 1, 2010 in Sherman, Texas.  He was born on August 28, 1926 in Dorchester, Texas to Rufus and Susie (Proffitt) Hestand.  Raymond married Dorothy Stephen on December 27, 1958 in Durant, Oklahoma.  She preceded him in death on March 11, 2000.  Raymond retired from Austin Pavin and was a member of the Baptist faith.
Raymond is survived by two sisters, Opal Todd and Emmogene Wallis, both of Gunter, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Howe with Bro. Andy Turner and Bro. Roger Tidwell officiating.  Interment followed at Hall Cemetery.  Pallbearers were Edwin Hestand, Michael Hestand, Gary Hestand, Billy Jo Wheeler, George Cavender, R.M. Smithwick, Keith Housewright and Less Bennett.
