Thursday, July 29, 1965 pg. 3 John Henry Helms, month-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Helms, died at 7:40 a.m. Thursday, July 22 in a Denison hospital. Funeral services were held Saturday in the Dorchester Baptist Church. The child was born June 24th in Denison. Rev. J.N. Sides, pastor, conducted the services. Burial was in Hall Cemetery. Survivors besides the parents are a brother, James May and a sister, Janet Lynn; the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Helms of Howe, Route 1, and Mr. and Mrs. Earl McGraw of Irving; the great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Mears of Alline, Arkansas and Mrs. Etta McGraw of Irving and several aunts and uncles. Herald Democrat November 5, 2008 SHERMAN - Clyde Henry Helms of Sherman, 71 year-old retired Texas Instruments employee, passed away on Monday, Nov. 3, 2008 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008 in the Waldo Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Bobby Hawkins of Mount Carmel Baptist Church will officiate and members of the Andrew Randell Masonic Lodge will conduct Masonic services. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home and Clyde's ashes will be buried at a later date at Hall Cemetery in Howe. Clyde was born July 4, 1937 in Tioga, the son of Ray and Beatrice Helms of Dorchester. He attended school at Dorchester and Howe and married Mary Evelyn McGraw on May 16, 1959 in Irving, Texas. He farmed most of his life in the Howe and Dorchester area and also was employed by Texas Instruments for 20 years before retiring in 1999. He was a Baptist, a 32nd Degree Mason and twice Past Master of the Howe Masonic Lodge. He currently was a member of the Andrew Randell Masonic Lodge in Sherman. He is survived by his wife, Mary Helms of Sherman; son, James Helms and wife Tammy of Howe; daughter, Janet Daniel and husband Clinton of Sherman; grandchildren, Samantha Helms of Howe, Clinton Daniel Jr. and wife Laura of Luella, Christopher Helms of Howe; and a great- grandson, Landon Daniel of Luella. He is also survived by sisters Juanita Malone of Sherman, Glenda Harden of Howe, Dorothy Hayes of Sherman and Shirley Morris and husband Charles of Howe; brothers-in-law, John Stroud of Van Alstyne and Jimmie Aaron of Dorchester; mother-in-law, Mary McGraw of Irving; sister-in-law, Ethel Baker of Irving. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, John Henry Helms, sisters Rose Stroud of Van Alstyne, Della Mae Taylor of Sherman and Peggy Aaron of Dorchester, and brothers-in-law Bill Malone, Homer Harden, Kenneth Hayes, all of the Sherman area. The family will receive friends from 6 -8 p.m. Wednesday evening at Waldo Funeral Home.
