The Howe Messenger Friday, October 25, 1935 pg. 1 HUGH GEE DIES AFTER LONG ILLNESS Funeral services for Hugh Gee, 50, were held at 3 p.m. yesterday afternoon at the First Christian Church in Howe. Interment was at Hall Cemetery, Rev. Lloyd Mottley, pastor of the Van Alstyne church, officiated. C.B. Johnson, Howe funeral director, had charge of the arrangements. Mr. Gee died at his home 2 miles northeast of Howe at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday. He had been in ill health for the past year and was confined to his bed for about 3 months. He was born in Grayson County, June 10, 1885, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.P. Gee, and had lived in Grayson county all of his life. He was a farmer and stockman prior to his ill health. Mr. Gee is survived by his stepmother; 4 sisters, Mrs. C.A. Hardy of Byers; Mrs. J.D. Hughett at home; Mrs.W.E. Nation of Whitesboro; and Miss Velma Gee of Dallas; 6 brothers, Tas of Sherman; Clint, Pete, Mark, and J.P., all of the home; and John of Howe. A number of nephews and nieces also survive. Mr. Gee was preceded in death by his parents; and 2 brothers. Pallbearers were Arch Smith, Lee Enloe, W.B. Camp, Harry Lupher, L.J. Butler, and Lowe Williamson.
