Howe - Loyd Rayburn Talbott, 68-year-old Howe resident, died Monday, May 11, 1998 at Community Medical Center, Sherman.
Services were held Wednesday morning, May 13, 1998, in Flesher Funeral Home Chapel in Howe.  Bro. Roger Tidwell and Bro. Bobby Fletcher officiated.  Burial was in Hall Cemetery.
Mr. Talbott was born on November 13, 1929 in Gainesville, Texas, son of  Joe Talbott and Ruby Haney Talbott.  He married Esken Johns on July 24, 1948 in Gainesville.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Howe and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.  He was a letter carrier for the Post Office.  He served in the U.S. Army during the Korea Conflict.
Pallbearers were Dennis Judkins, Mack Davis, Tim Wear, Brian Manuel, Wendell Manuel, and ? Webb,
Surviving are his wife, Esken Talbott of Howe; one son, Kevin Talbott and wife, Donna, of Sherman; 2 grandchildren, Jason and Jeremy Talbott; and sister, Emma Jo West of Gainesville.
Memorials may be made to the Cancer Center.


Lillie Eskew Johns Talbott was born February 24, 1930 in Johnston County, Oklahoma, daughter of W.F. Johns and Lessie Coffee Johns.  She was one of 9 children.  She attended Plainview grade school and Wapanucka High School.  She graduated from Thackerville, Oklahoma in 1948.
On July 24, 1948, she married her soulmate and the love of her life, Loyd Rayburn Talbott in Gainesville, Texas.  They moved to Sherman in 1950 and then to Howe in 1964.
Eskew enjoyed the outdoors and gardening.  She was an avid bird watcher and loved working with her husband.  She also cherished visiting and walking with her church friends.
In her last couple of years, she made her home at Celebration Senior Living where she loved and was loved by the other residents and staff.
Eskew is survived by her son, Kevin and wife, Tracey; her grandson, Jason and Krista; her grandson, Jeremy and wife, Shelby; 4 great-granddaughters: Kay'Lynn, Kayzley, Kaydy Ray, and Emma Jay; and her 2 sisters, Joyce Manuel and Rosie Moore.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one brother and 5 sisters.
Eskew passed away October 14, 2020.  Graveside services were held Friday morning, October 16, 2020 at Hall Cemetery in Howe, Texas.  Services were under the direction of Scoggins Funeral Home, Van Alstyne, Texas. - - - Scoggins Funeral Home
