  Donal G. Gilstrap 14 July 1933 - 25 March 2018 Barbara H. Gilstrap 8 January 1934 - 17 November 2012 wed 6 August 1959   Howe, Texas - Services for Donal Gene, Gilstrap, 84, of Howe, Texas were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 29, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Howe. Private family burial followed at the Hall Cemeter in Howe. Donal passed away Sunday, March 25, 2018 at the Homestead of Sherman. He was born July 14, 1933 in Breckenridge, Texas, son of Edmund and Martha Gilstrap Donal enlisted and served in the United States Army becoming a 1st Lieutenant. He met Barbara Helen Mahan while at Ft. Sill and married her on August 8, 1959 in Madill, Oklahoma. Donal received his degree from Hardin Simmons University and later got his Master's degree from Texas Tech. He taught and coached in Memphis, Texas and Lubbock, Texas before moving to Howe to be a principal for Howe Schools from 1972 until his retirement in 1993. He was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Howe, Texas. Donal was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Barbara Helen Gilstrap. Services were under the direction of Scottings Funeral Home, Van Alstyne, Texas. Pallbearers were Sam Haigis, Buddy Baker, Ray Bledsoe, Charles Farris, Charles Loftice and Bill Loftice.
