Eli Franklin McMahan

Services were held Thursday, May 6, at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Van Alstyne for Eli Franklin McMahan, age 98, who passed away at his residence, Rt. 1, Van Alstyne, on Tuesday, May 4, at 7 p.m.
Burial was in Hall Cemetery with Flesher Funeral Home directing. Rev. Bill McNatt officiated.
Mr. McMahan was born in Arkansas November 28, 1872, the son of Mr. and Mrs. George P. McMahan. He was a retired farmer
and member of the Baptist Church. He married Minnie Fowler in 1898. She preceded him in death in 1957.
Survivors are five daughters; Mrs. L.L. Springfield of Dallas, Mrs. Fred Banfield of Whitesboro, Mrs. George Light of Collinsville, Mrs. Virgil Hood of Dallas and Miss Marie McMahan of Van Alstyne; two sons, Frank McMahan Jr. of Lubbock, Carl McMahan of Breckenridge; 18 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one brother, Earnest McMahan of Bakersfield, Calif.
