March 30, 1967 SGT McBroom was born in Tolison, Arizona the son of Mr. and Mrs. John D. McBroom. SGT McBroom died on a Saturday while serving with the U.S. Army in Tay Ninh, Vietnam. He was survived by his wife, Mrs. Siga McBroom; a daughter, Somone McBroom and a son Lloyd McBrown Jr. all of Tacoma, Washington; his grandmother Mrs. Edna McBroom of Van Alstyne, Texas; three brothers, John McBroom of Coast Mesa, California, Roy McBroom and Gene McBroom of Monterey, California; two sisters, Mrs. Louise Robinson of Sherman, Texas and Mrs. Donna McBroom of Monterey; and a step-mother, Mrs. Emma Little of Monterey. SGT. McBoom was a member of the Methodist Church. Funeral services were held at the First Methodist Church, with Reverend Albert Click, pastor of the church, officiating. LLOYD McBROOM Military rites were conducted at First Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Saturday for Sgt. Lloyd Lindale McBroom, who was killed in Viet Nam March 25. The pastor, Rev. A.F. Click, officiated at the services with interment in the Howe Cemetery. Sgt. McBroom, 26, was killed by a land mine. He was serving his second tour of duty with an Army Engineer unit and was due to return home in a little more than a month. He was a 10-year service man, having entered the Army in late 1957. Born in Tollison, Arizona, Sgt. McBroom spent part of his boyhood in Howe and Van Alstyne. Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Siga McBroom of Decoma, Washington; two children, Lloyd McBroom, Jr. and Simone McBroom; an uncle and a cousin here, Claude and Jackie McBroom; grandmother, Edna McBroom of Van Alstyne; three brothers, John T. McBroom of Costa Mesa, California; Roy and Gene McBroom of Monterey, California; two sisters, Mrs. Louise Robinson of Sherman and Miss Dona McBroom of Monterey; stepmother, Mrs. Ema Little of Monterey.
