September 13, 2010 Cora Mae Gailey, 89, passed away Saturday morning Sept. 11, 2010 at Hilltop Haven Nursing Home in Gunter. Arrangements are under the direction of Dannel Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2010 at Hall Cemetery Howe. Pastor Duane Peters of Inspiration Point Cowboy Church will officiate. Visitation will be at Dannel Funeral Home on Monday, Sept. 13, 2010 from 6-7 p.m. Cora was born on Jan. 2, 1921 in Kemp, Okla., to Frank and Emma Hale Trammell. She graduated valedictorian of the class of 1939 from Dorchester High School. On June 16, 1941, she married A.C. Gailey in Durant, Okla. In 1960, she became a licensed vocational nurse and worked as an LVN for 18 years at Wilson N. Jones Hospital in Sherman. Afterwards, Cora worked at Hilltop Haven until her retirement. She was a member of West Sherman Baptist Church. Cora was the caretaker for all of her family, and she deeply loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Tommy Joe Gailey; brothers, Jake Trammell and Leman Trammell; and sister, Frankie Ward. Her surviving family includes her daughter, Beverly Rodriquez and husband, Larry of Luella; brother, Eugene Trammell of Texas City; sister, Jo Billy of Southmayd; grandchildren, Christina Watson and husband Rocky of Luella, Jessica Mason and husband Russ of Tom Bean, Teddy Joe Gailey of Austin, and Jim Bob Gailey of Austin; and great-grandchildren, Haley Mann of Luella, Zoee Watson of Luella, Israel Mason of Tom Bean, and Justin and Preston Gailey of Austin.
