A5 Services for Jane Davis Lucas, 77, of Saint Jo, formerly of Dorchester, Texas, were held Tuesday morning, November 6, 2007 at Central Christian Church in Sherman, Texas. Rev. Larry Coleman of the First United Methodist Church in Saint Jo, Texas officiated. Interment followed at Hall Cemetery. Jane passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2007 at John Peter Smith Hospital in Ft. Worth, Texas after a brief illness. She was born June 7, 1929 in Sherman, Texas, and was araised on her parents farm and ranch near Dorchester. She attended school in Sherman and graduated in 1946 and from the University of Texxas in 1950 with a degree in journalism. In 1950 Jane married Howard Lucas, Jr. and they started ranching southwest of Dorchester. In 1981 they moved to a ranch near Saint Jo where she was still living. Jane also had her real estate brokers' license and was a writer for the Sherman Democrat. She was a past secretary-treasurer for the Hall Cemetery Association, a member of the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raiser's Association, Central Christian Church of Sherman and the First United Methodist Church of Saint Jo. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harrison Davis and Anna Graham Davis; and her husband. She is survived by 2 sons, Jim Lucas and wife, Trudy, of Dorchester; and Luke Lucas of Roberts, Montana. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Lindee Taylor of Celina, Texas; Kirsta Lucas of Dorchester; Dan Lucas of Roberts, Montana; and Pete Lucas of Roberts Montana; and 2 great-grandchildren.
