Funeral
services were held Tuesday afternoon in Waldo Funeral Chapel here for
Mrs. Si Collins, 81, of Sherman, formerly of Wichita Falls, who died at
4:10 p.m. Sunday in a Sherman hospital after a long illness. She
was a native of Collinsville. Don Kester, minister of the Walnut
St. Church of Christ, conducted the services. Burial was in Hall
Cemetery, Howe. Tommy Logan, R.H. Bowen, Edward A. Fernandez, Pat
Tillman, B. Butler and Elmer Runnels were pallbearers. Mrs. Collins, the former Miss Lisa Nicholson was born March 8, 1880, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Nicholson. She and Mr. Collins were married in 1903 and he died in1 904. For many years Mrs. Collins lived in Farmington, where she was assistant postmistress. She was a graduate of the University of Texas and taught school in Grayson County for several years. Later she was graduated from Draughns Business College, and afterwards taught at that college for several years. For 22 years she was sales manager for the Excelsis Cosmetics Co., Wichita Falls. She retired from that company one and one-half years ago because of failing health. Before moving to Sherman in August 1960, she had lived in Wichita Falls for 41 years. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors are 2 brothers, Frank Nicholson of Howe, and Smith Nicholson of Sherman; a sister,, Miss Jennie Nicholson of Sherman; 4 half-sisters,, Mrs. Lela Cates of Sulphur Springs; Mrs. Walter Enloe, of Sherman; Mrs. L.C. Burkett of Sherman; and Mrs. Euna Snyder of Oakland, California; a half-brother, Ralph Nicholson of Greenville; and several nieces and nephews.
