The Howe Messenger Friday, February 28, 1941 pg. 1 BOB GREEN DIES OF HEART ATTACK Funeral services of Robert Lee Green, 44, who died suddenly at his residence in north Howe at 10 p.m. Saturday following a heart attack, were held at the Howe Baptist church at 2 p.m. Monday. Rev. J.R. Hilger of Greenville, a former pastor of the Howe church, officiated. Burial was at Hall cemetery under direction of C.B. Johnson. Mr. Green was born at Howe July 9, 1897, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.T. Green. He was educated in the Howe schools and had spent the greater part of his life in this community. On June 10, 1929 he was married to Miss Lillian Grigg at Van Alstyne. At the time of his death he was mechanic for County Commissioner Reece Bowen. Surviving Mr. Green are his wife; one daughter, Mary Catherine; 5 brothers, George Green of Sherman; Abe Green of Howe; Mark Green of Dallas; Johnnie Gibson of Sulphur Springs; and Jimmie Gibson of Bolivar, Missouri; 2 sisters, Mrs. Lydia Kaufman of Hudson, Kansas; and Mrs. J.J. Garrison of Dallas; and one uncle, John Griffith of Woodville, Oklahoma. Pallbearers were Truett Davenport, Keith Poole, Ray Henderson, W.A. Wilson, W.B. Camp, and Hugh McCord.
