HOWE
--- Funeral services for Paulene Speer were held Monday morning,
February 12 in the Howe Church of Christ. Toby Soechting of the church
officiated with services under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home.
Mrs. Speer passed away Friday, February 9 at her home in Howe at the
age of 84.
Paulene was born on April 25, 1922 in Camp, Arkansas, daughter of Marshall and Tina Simpson Holloway. She graduated from high school and married R.T. Speer on September 21, 1945. Paulene was a devoted homemaker who enjoyed knitting, crocheting and cooking. She also enjoyed making porcelain and ceramic dolls. Mrs. Speer was a long time member of Howe Church of Christ. Paulene is survived by her son, Ronald Speer and his wife, Yvonne of San Angelo, Texas; one daughter, Rebecca Hix and her husband, Wayne, of Howe; 5 grandchildren: Lisa Martin of San Antonio; Bill Jackson of Big Rapids, Michigan; Paula Speer of Daphne, Alabama; Christopher Hix of Sherman; and Adam Hix of Howe; 5 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Fay Frazier of Cushing, Oklahoma and Estelle Claude of Kennett, Missouri; 2 sisters-in-law. Donna Bearden of Howe and Betty West of Mineral Wells, Texas; her special friend and driver, Marilyn Powers; and several nieces and nephews.
