April 26, 2013 SHERMAN - James Ralph McLean, 78, of Sherman died Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at his residence. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at Hagerman Baptist Church with Rev. Neal Alexander and Rev. Doug Lacey officiating. Burial was in Hagerman Cemetery. Pall bears were Larry Guilloud, Jason Gattis, Bob Gattis, Clay Burns, David Hardenburg, Reubin Chambers, Brian Sethaler and Bart Lawrence. Mr. McLean was born November 27, 1934 in Vernon, son of John E. and Mary Irene Richie McLean. He graduated from Lockett High School in Lockett. He married Annette Streit on October 15, 1955, and she preceded him in death on July 29, 1974. He married Sarah Lawrence Kennon on June 20, 1975. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1984, and retired from McCoy's Building Supply in 1999. He was presently engaged in farming and ranching. He is survived by his wife, Sarah McLean of Sherman; sons, Russell McLean and wife, Tiana, of Vernon, Darell Kennon and wife, Jana, of Vernon; daughters, Beth McLean Cook and husband, Lee, of Vernon, Delores Kennon of Dallas; brother, John "Butch" McLean of Vernon; sisters, Shirley Nichols of Vernon, Charlotte Lockett of Decatur; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank Dr. Benson and staff for the excellent care that he received. The family requests memorials to Hagerman Baptist Church, 4619 Refuge Rd., Sherman, TX. 75092. Services are under the direction of Johnson-Moore Funeral Home in Denison.
