Sherman - Billy "Mack" Wiley, Jr. ran into the arms of his Savior on December 16, 2020. Mack was born August 6, 1961 in Terrell, Texas, son of Billy Mack Wiley, Sr. and Sherry Ann Raspberry. His early childhood was spent exploring the land they lived on, Shady Oaks Ranch in Denton, Texas. His mother shared that at the age of 2 she would tie Mack on his Shetland pony, Judy, and Judy would take Mack around the ranch land, bring him home for lunch, and then back out on the land. Learning to ride at an early age with his sister in tow, he came around the barn too fast and too close and caught her head on the corner. Kim still bears the scar. Mack moved to Sherman in the 2nd grade and attended Sherman schools through his senior year but often returned to Terrell to spend time with his grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. Mack and cousins, Pat Wayne and Randy, loved hunting and fishing. They spent days camping on the family property and living off the land. Visiting his grandparents, Mack would catch crawfish and bull frogs and taken them to his grandmother to fry up for lunch. Mack also shared stories of how much he loved the all-night raccoon hunts he had with his Granpa. Mack had a great work ethic and worked steadily from the time he had his first paper route. At 15, while working at a local Dairy Queen, he met his future bride. On January 3, 1981 Mack and Debby were married in Sherman, Texas. Mack had several jobs before going to work at Eisenhower Yacht Club in 1980. Mack and Debby were offered a couple's job at Cedar Mills Marina in 1981, and they worked there together until 1987. It was then Mack and his wife took jobs at Collin Park Marina on Lake Lavon, working side by side until Mack's accident at the marina in 2017 that left him a quadriplegic. Mark loved the water and he and Debby had been married a few short years when they bought their first boat. Spending days off from work, boating and camping at the islands of Lake Texoma with their kids, friends, and other family members. Mack would make every effort to get the boat launched and anchored in time for his bride to see the sunset. Then it was time to gather wood for the bon fire, roasting hotdogs and marshmallows, listening to the night life, and wetting a hook. Days were spent skiing, tubing and building sand castles. Mack also loved spending time in the pool, splashing around with his grandkids well into the night. After his accident, Mack still longed to be outside and cherished the days he was able to spend in the sun. But when that couldn't happen, he just wanted to be surrounded by his family and friends, sharing a meal or watching football. Mark is survived by his wife, Debby McConnell Wiley, of Sherman; 2 children, Clay Wiley of Sherman and Amber Fulce if Sherman; 2 grandchildren, Kendslee Fulce and Carson Wiley; sister, Kim Miller and husband, Carson, of The Colony; 2 brothers, Shane Wiley of Tyler and Bryan Kelley of Tyler; 2 brothers-in-law, Brad McConnell and wife, Vicki of Sherman; and Les McConnell and wife, Susan, of Sherman; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Brent McConnell; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, JP and Jean McConnell. A graveside service was held Monday morning, December 21, 2020 at Gunter Cemetery with Reece McConnell, Rafe McConnell, Everson McConnell, Dylan McConnell, Nathan White, Jeremiah Franey, Carson Wiley, James Robinson, Luke Burleson and Jonathan Weaver as pallbearers. Funeral services followed at noon at First Baptist Church in Sherman with Dr. Mike Lawson officiating. Mack loved Jesus, and he loved you for praying for him throughout his journey.
