Dickey 13 August 1941 - 15 February 2003 PFC US Army Vietnam Elizabeth Ann Dickey passed away peacefully on April 8, 2023, after a courageous battle with a regenerative brain disorder. Elizabeth was known to most as "Libby". She was born in Sherman, Texas on May 14, 1953. She spent her childhood in Denison, Waco and Van Alstyne. She was a cheerleader at and graduated from Van Alstyne High School. She married Don Dickey of Gunter on October 25, 1972. The two resided in Gunter until his death Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband; her parents, Martha Phillips and Billy Tillett; her father-in-law, James Dickey; her mother-in-law, Alla Jean Dickey; her brothers-in-law, Norman Dickey and Robbie Sparks; and her sister-in-law, Calla Robison. She is survived by her son, his wife and 3 children - Stephen, Kristen, Caroline, Annika and Mary-Kate Dickey of Frisco; her brother and his wife - Ricky and Cynthia Tillett of Tom Bean; her sister and husband, Kathy and Steve Tolbert of Howe; her brother and his wife, John and Imee Howdeshell of Brazoria; her brother and his wife, Joe and Darlene Howdeshell of Bonham; here sister-in-law, Joanne Dickey of Howe; her sister-in-law, Ladonna Sparks of Italy; her brother-in-law, Gary Robison of Pottsboro; and many nieces and nephews. Libby loved the Lord and attended the Church of Christ either in Gunter or Howe for much of her life. Libby worked for the US Postal Service for over 25 years. She was a kind and gentle soul who was loved by many. She loved spending time with her family and especially with her beloved granddaughters. The funeral service was held at Scoggins Funeral Home on Friday afternoon, April 21, 2023; burial followed at Gunter Cemetery.
