The Herald Democrat April 11, 2014 SHERMAN - Jimmy Franklin Clayton, age 65, who passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2014 in Mesquite, Texas. Jimmy Clayton was born November 30, 1948 in Dallas, Texas; the son of J.W. and Dimple (Barnett) Clayton. Mr. Clayton served his country during the Vietnam War while serving in the Army. He worked at Truss Rite in Sherman for a total of eight years as a saw man. Jimmy had a passion for hunting and riding motorcycles and he worked with the Texas Abate for a number of years. He loved every minute that he was able to spend with his family, and looked forward to his "Father's Day camping trip" which became a yearly tradition. Mr. Clayton will be missed deeply by all who knew and loved him. Mr. Clayton is survived by his loving family, five daughters, Shannon Weber, Dawn Cloud, Marcie Wesley, Sondra Cowart and Brandy Klegg, one son, John Lankston, eleven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two brothers, Jerry Clayton and Don Clayton, and one sister, Stacey Richards. He was preceded in death by his wife, Andrea Clayton, daughter, Kimberly Clayton, grandson, Logan Hernandez, parents, and brother, David Clayton. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 11 at Fisher Funeral Chapel with Jason Neal officiating. A private family interment will follow at Gunter Cemetery in Gunter, Texas. Family visitation will be held from 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday, April 10 at Fisher Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home, located at 604 West Main in Denison.
