Lola Frances Stuckey 25 January 1921 - 25 January 1981 Leonard Joe Stuckey 4 December 1917 - 17 April 2017 Funeral services for Leonard Joe Stuckey, 89, of Gordonville, Texas, were held Wednesday afternoon, April 19, 2017 at First Baptist Church of Gordonville with Rev. James Rafferty officiating. Interment followed at Gordonville Cemetery. Leonard passed away Monday, April 17th at Whitesboro Health and Rehabilitation Center with his loving family by his side. Services were under the direction of Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro.
Leonard was born December 4, 1927 in Gordonville, Texas, son of W.P. and Pearl Lee Farmer Stuckey. He married Lola Harper in Durant, Oklahoma; she preceded him in death January 25, 1981. He married Genelle Laird; she preceded him in death on August 12, 2014. He was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Gordonville and was a lifetime farmer/rancher. His love was his farm. He enjoyed gardening and sharing his harvest with family and friends. Leonard absolutely loved his grandchildren! Pallbearers were Brade Colwell, Justin Herron, Lawrence MacDonald, Ray Stuckey, Steve Stuckey and Shane Simmons. Honorary pallbearers were his 2 great-grandsons, Cooper Herron and Brody Colwell. He is survived by his daughters, Ann Kelly of Sadler and Shirley Herron and husband, Gene, of Sadler; step-children, David Laird and wife, Robye of Whitesboro; and Debbie Knabe and husband, Ed, of Gainesville; grandchildren: Brad Colwell and wife, Tammy; Justin Herron and wife, Tracy; Kerry MacDonald and husband, Lawrence; 4 great-grandchildren: Haley Colwell, Brody Colwell, Cooper Herron and Erin MacDonald; and the extended family of Genelle Laird Stuckey and 3 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. He w as preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lola Harper Stuckey; second wife, Genelle Laird Stuckey; and numerous siblings.
