The Herald Democrat March 1 , 2011 Gordonville - Funeral services for Lee Dennis Gibson, Jr., 83, were held Wednesday afternoon, March 2, 2011 at the First Assembly of God Church in Whitesboro with Rev. Allen Phillips officiating. Interment followed at Gordonville Cemetery. All service arrangements were under the direction of Meador Funeral Home. Lee passed away on February 27, 2011 in Whitesboro. He was born November 21, 1927, son of Lee Dennis, Sr. and Aris Spears Gibson in Henrietta. He married Bernice Campiche on April 9, 1944. They spent 43 wonderful years together until her death in 1987. The Lord then brought him together in marriage to Beatrice Parkhurst on November 27, 1987 in Addison, Michigan. She has been lovingly by his side until his passing. The couple resided in Gordonville for 8-1/2 years. He worked in bridge construction in Texas, Oregon, California, and Washington state. He then was self-employed as a master carpenter. He was the director of maintenance at the Heights Assembly of God Church in Austin for 15 years until his retirement. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Whitesboro. He is survived by his wife, Beatrice Gibson of Gordonville; his children: Penny Walton and husband, Wayne, of Trenton; Cyndi Nail and husband, Wade, of Rosenburg; Paula Goodwin of Round Rock; Debbie Gibson and husband, Jack Stuart, of Ashdown, Arkansas; Rosanne Crownover and husband, Doug, of Cuba, Missouri; Harold Cool, Jr. and wife, Arleen, of Peyton, Colorado; Ramona O'Neal of St. Robert, Missouri; Christine Bell and husband, John, of St. Robert, Missouri; 29 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Dennis Gibson and wife, Shirley, of San Bernardino, California; an uncle, A.C. Spears and wife, Winnie, of Amarillo; sisters-in-law, Linda Kay Gibson of Sadler; and Sharon Gibson of Las Vegas, Nevada. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Thomas and Donald Gibson; sister, Cleo Smith; wife, Bernice Gibson; daughter, Sharon Gibson; infant son, Larry Gibson; and infant great-grandson, Scott Medina. Pallbearers were Harold Cool, Jr., John Bell, Billy Goodwin, Gary Prise, Chris McCormick, and Tommy Walton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Assembly of God Church, Whitesboro, Texas.
