Funeral services for Charlene Pinkston, 87, of Sadler, Texas, will be held Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Gordonville, with Rev. Rick Carney officiating. Interment will follow at Gordonville Cemetery. She passed away March 19th at her home in Sadler, Texas, with her family by her side. She was born February 8, 1929 to Charles and Mary Alice (Underwood)Fryar in Dallas, Texas. She married R.W. (Pinky) Pinkston on July 11, 1961, in Mesquite, Texas. She was an active member of First Baptist Church Gordonville. She loved her church and church family, and for years, she served the church as a "beloved" Sunday School teacher. She sang in the church choir and participated in many other church functions and activities. She was passionate and an expert at fishing and could spend hours and hours at her favorite pastime. She loved to cook and make preserves. Many of her friends and family benefitted from her cooking talents. She is survived by her husband, R.W. (Pinky) Pinkston; sons, Bobby Pinkson and wife, Nancy, and Jimmy Pinkston; granddaughter, Jennifer Pinkston Dilmore and great-grandson, Adam Dilmore. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Fryar; step-father and mother, L.D. and Alice Massengale; twin brother, Charles Fryar; sisters, Helen Underwood and Louise Fryar. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Women's Missionary Union (WMU). Funeral services for Rupert Wilson "Pinky" Pinkston, 98, of Gordonville, Texas were held Monday, December 12, 2016 at First Baptist Church, Gordonville; interment followed at Gordonville Cemetery. He passed away Thursday, December 8, 2016 at his home in Sadler. He was born October 2, 1918 in Dresden, Tennessee, son of Arthur Pinkstone and Tommie Winstead. He married Charlene Fryar in July 1962. He worked for Lockheed Aircraft during World War II building airplanes and then served in the U.S. Army in World War II. He was a founding member of Theatre Equipment Association, having owned a Theatre Supply business. He was also a member of IATSE Local Union #249. Pinky was a sixty-five year member of Masonic Lodge #536 AF&AM, Gordonville and was a Deacon of First Baptist Church, Gordonville. He is survived by two sons, Bobby Pinkston and wife Nancy of Sadler and Jimmy Pinkston of Edgewood; granddaughter Jennifer Pinkston Dilmore and great-grandson Adam Dilmore; and three nieces. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; brother, M.L. Pinkston and two sisters, Lena Mae Cannady and Ruby Pinkston.
