  Crape Shires 15 July 1897 - 5 February 1960 Walter L. Shires 9 February 1895 - 14 October 1973 The Denison Press Friday, February 12, 1960 DEATHS Funeral services for Mrs. W.L. Shires, who died at a local hospital last Friday were conducted Saturday, February 7 with Rev. Hugh Davis as minister and Bratcher in charge; interment followed at Georgetown. Mrs. Shires was the mother of three children. She married at Batesville, Ark., July 15, 1897. Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. J. Jones, being born at Pottsboro. She was married May 15, 1915 and had resided in the Pottsboro community the greater part of her life. She was a member of the Georgetown Baptist Church. Survivors are W.L. Shires; two daughters, Mrs. Reba Steele, Los Angeles and Mrs. Ola Mae Thornhill, Junction City, Oregon; and a son, Ralph of Denison. Also surviving are two brothers, Jeff Jones of Moses Lake, Wash., and Curt Jones, El Paso, Tex., and one sister, Mrs. Myrtle Lewis, Pottsboro; besides 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
